Academy of Model Aeronautics website, especially the Member Manual and Safety Code.
Apply for membership.
Read and understand the
HVFRC By-Laws and the
HVFRC Field and Pit Rules.
Find a member at the field that is willing to act as your sponsor. The sponsor is required to instruct you as to the rules of the club and field and to organize your flight training. Discuss your mutual availability in advance, since this person is your primary trainer.
Consider getting an RC Airplane Flight Simulator. This computer program and interface will allow you to build the flying skills you need to be successful at the field.
Attend our monthly club meeting as a guest of your sponsor and fill out an application*. You must bring your AMA card.
Pay $75 initiation fee (first year only) and $75 membership fee. After July 1st, the membership fee will be cut in half. Attend three consecutive meeting and be voted in.
